We’re doing something special here in ……………..Orange County! ……………….. ………………………………………………………… Please keep scrolling down there’s lots more to see

At emotion portrait studios you can be yourself, and we’ll show you just how gorgeous you are.
emotion portrait studios is about the experience as well as the result. We want you to love both. When you’re having a great time, it shows! Your emotions come through – happiness, affection, excitement, maybe a little mischief. When you look at your pictures, you’ll feel the fun all over again.

There’s nothing typical about emotion. There are no fake blue skies in the background. No stiff posed subjects holding on to strained smiles – just waiting for the flash so they can relax again. If that’s what you think of when you think of portraits, prepare to be surprised.

Kids won’t sit still? We like that. Dad doesn’t want to pose? We’ll change his mind. Mom, Dad, kids, Grandpa, Grandma, even the dog. Everybody gets into the act. We know you have ideas about how your portraits should look, so you get to play a role in creating them. Together, we’ll shape a unique expression of who you and your family really are.

At emotion portrait studios, we have a state of the art studio, talented digital artists, a dedicated viewing room, everything you’d expect from a first class photography business. But we have more. Our photo sessions are actually fun. We see what makes each person, and each family, extraordinary – and we capture it all in a true work of art you can enjoy forever.

We’ll let our pictures tell the rest of the story. Please see the EXPERIENCE video or just click here EXPERIENCE

BITE ME

Emotion’s Notable Women GIRL’S INC Boardmember and dtoolbox founder and CEO KIM Shepherd explains the BITE ME School  of Management.

One of the fantastic and inspiring aspects of our series of Notable Women is that once we’ve gotten close enough to profile them and photograph their families we get to watch them keep doing what made them a choice to be a Notable Woman in the first place.

Take Sylvaine’s primary business mentor Kim Shepherd for example, not only is she leading a business that’s thriving in this horrendous economy she found time to write a book about how to do it.

Here it is on Amazon The BITE ME School of Management and the first thing you’ll see is the 5 star rating. If you ever get the chance to meet or hang with Kim, as we are lucky enough to, then you’ll see how this wonderfully irreverent book is the perfect reflection of this zany, cool, woman.

Another thing we owe her for is our introduction to Girls Inc. where the girls spent most of their summer being very empowered. Kim’s one of the driving forces behind an organization that’s got very close to our hearts.

Her family portrait (below and in the scrolling header gallery) also happens to be one of our icon shots.

Here’s Kim being very nice about Emotion Portrait Studios

Talk about tears in your eyes…………..

So we shot photos and produced this video for girls Inc. Gala with the boys next door at http://www.occreativemedia.com/ WARNING it’ll bring tears to your eyes.

We also made a series of 20″ x 30″ prints for display at the Gala and to go up around the facility in Costa Mesa, which is just round the corner from our studio ( here’s the link http://www.girlsinc-oc.org/ ) we wanted to say thank you to all the models that came over for the photo shoot so we made a print for each of them as a surprise. I went over today to present them to the girls which was a rowdy and funny experience.

But here’s what brought tears to my eyes.

I love the handmade signs and the very original shots, please take a look through the gallery it’s a great illustration of everything Girl’s Inc. stands for and strives to achieve

(all images shot by the very cool and dedicated Kimberly Harnish, that’s Nathan her husband, for those of you who don’t know, and also works at the facility)

GIRLS INC. GALA OVER $300,000 RAISED

$300,000 that’s pretty serious cash, congratulations to you all, and don’t you all look fantastic raising all that money? We thought so anyway. Thanks to all of you who came by and kept us entertained while we made your portraits throughout the evening, we had a blast.

Don’t forget to check out the video of the girls that was shown during the evening it’s posted on Youtube at our emotion portrait studios channel and you can click here to see it,  http://youtu.be/hDrIriiVpCQ it will bring tears to your eyes all over again. Emotion photography right there. Feel free to share it, get more people involved, our girls want to be back next summer. Thanks again.

WE ARE IN…….. THE NEW STUDIO THAT IS

EMOTION PORTRAITS OPENS NEW COSTA MESA STUDIO

After 2 years in the cold wastes of North Huntington Beach we’ve opened our new photography studio in the middle of Costa Mesa, the heart of Orange County, California. It’s closer to the beach, easier for more people to get to and right in the middle of Orange County’s hippest most happening area. We even have the best Mexican chicken restaurant right next door, when I say Super Polo I know there’s thousands of people who instantly know where we are, and when the venerable Tower Records finally comes down you’ll be able to see us as you sit at the 17th and Newport Blvd lights.

As family portrait photographers the space is perfect. We have a great big studio space with the coved wall I’ve always wanted, with loads of gallery space to show off the super cool and madly funky portrait presentation styles we offer. There’s tons of space for families to relax during the various visits they make when creating their family portrait and enough space for the kids to bounce off the walls during the sessions. (Kids bouncing off the walls during the portrait session is an important part of what we do).

It’s been a busy time though, moving studio locations and keeping the business flowing is a tricky thing to do and as usual we elected to leave the build out, decoration and still keep shooting to the last possible moment. I confess before our first family portrait session I was in the studio at 5a.m. applying the last coat of paint in order for it to be dry enough to shoot on later on in the day. It was and the portrait session was a great success.

So we are in, come over and see us at 1727 Superior Ave, Costa Mesa and stop in next door for lunch, breakfast or dinner.

Soon we’ll even have a sign, here’s a photo of the front entrance just so you know what it looks like.
